The.BlkRoom is a Chicago-based organization, and co-creation studio facilitating opportunities for BIPOC artists and creatives across the city.

“The.BlkRoom stands as a beacon for artists and musicians seeking a supportive community. Its commitment to providing a safe space for underrepresented voices resonates deeply with our mission. By joining forces, we're not just sharing a space; we're nurturing a culture of inclusivity, creativity, and empowerment”

- “The Ghetto Flower Blooms In The.BlkRoom

Founded in September 2021 as a co-creation space, TBR operated as a member based music studio, built with the intention of providing a safe, accessible and high-quality working environment for Black and Brown artists and musicians in Chicago. TBR has since become a success in cultivating resources for the Chicago artist community, and sustained our mission as we transitioned out of our physical space at the top of 2023. By continuing to provide opportunities for up and coming creatives over the summer, we united people, the arts, and space through special events, virtual showcases, and other creative efforts.

Now settling into our new home, we are excited to relaunch our Membership Program, expand out Outreach Programs and continue pushing our mission forward on the West Side of the city. With a bigger space, and the capacity to hold programing within our walls we are so excited to continue to harbor community and create opportunities for BIPOC Artist.

The.BlkRoom, It’s initiatives and what they stand for in the city is very important for Black Artist…… Little by little if we have more communities like this it will overall contribute to the larger goal of liberation, and being free to express art.”
